πάσης πλεονεξίας. “Every form of covetousness”: comp. πάντα πειρασμόν, “every kind of temptation” (4:13); πᾶσα ἁμαρτία καὶ βλασφημία (Mt. 12:31). On πλεονεξία “the greedy desire to have more,” as a more comprehensive vice than φιλαργυρία, see Lft. Epp. p. 56 and on Col. 3:5. He quotes φυλάξασθε οὖν ἀπὸ τῆς πορνείας καὶ τῆς φιλαργυρίας (Test. 12. Patr. Jud. 18.), and somewhat differs from Trench, Syn. xxiv.
